Details of our Kite, Wing and Foil services depending on the wind strength
Our school has developed a Weather Gauge specialized in the practice of nautical activities. Adapted to the weather conditions specific to the Thau lagoon, a colored flag marks each of our services. In our school, no surprises. You know in detail how your session will progress, whatever the weather conditions.
How does it work ?
Take note of our general weather gauge to best choose your activity.
On windy activities, the session objectives will change depending on the power of the wind. A detailed weather gauge is available on each of our services sold.
We will validate the course time the day before for the next day with the latest weather forecast. Our gauge allows you to see how the upcoming session is going.
If the details of the session are not adapted to your level or your expectations do not correspond to the session achievable with planned conditions, we will postpone the session and your place will be taken by someone else.

The ideal wind power to discover all our activities and progress in kitefoiling in light wind.

Discovery, Initiation, progression : Perfect conditions to tackle one of our following sessions:
- “Light Wind Kite” thematic session : Discovery of traction sensations: The ideal initiation.
- “Children’s kite” thematic session : Discovery, initiation and progression for children and light weight.
- “Customizable” courses : Discovery, initiation and first stages of progression up to waterstart and beginning of gliding.
- One session from a “Kite Course” pack: Gain comfort in piloting and create the necessary benchmarks for further progression.
Improvement : Conditions suitable for improvement in one of our following sessions:
- “Kite safety” thematic session. Safety for the experienced.
- “Light Wind Kite” Thematic Session. Expand your navigation range and gain ease of piloting.
- “Kite Foil” thematic session. Set-up, safety and under-power piloting adapted to kitefoil practice.
Wing
Discovery and Initiation Wingsurf : Pleasant conditions accessible to all to discover the activity and glide in light wind on the lagoon with a paddle with large fins.
Wingfoil initiation and progression : Activity not possible with a foil in these light wind conditions. Wait for stronger wind or focus on the learning foil or experience foil activity to master your flight above the water.

Paddle Foil : Can be done in East, West and South winds. Experience or learning, these conditions are ideal for everyone.

Kayak & Paddle : A pleasant time to discover the lagoon using a paddle-powered activity.
Our advice : If you are not comfortable, we advise you to opt for kayaking. Your center of gravity is lower, you will not have balance problems. Equipped with two blades you will move more easily.

- “Customizable” and “Kite course” sessions: Discovery, initiation, progression. The ideal wind range for everyone from the first session to getting back upwind.
Improvement : Ideal conditions for improving your skills in one of our following sessions:
- “Kite safety” thematic session. Safety for experienced riders.
- “Light Wind Kite” Thematic Session. Expand your navigation range and gain ease of piloting under power.
- “Kite Foil” thematic session. Set-up, waterstart safety and upwind Kitefoil. Session possible with all wind directions. Boat logistics will allow you to progress easily and quickly.
- “Surf Kite” thematic session. Introduction and progression in surfing with and without straps for riders going upwind. Session possible with all wind directions.

The pond side rental may be closed depending on the strength of the wind. Contact Kayak Med.
Our school’s advice: We recommend that you rent single or double kayaks in case the wind is expected to exceed 15 knots.
The ideal combo : Have you never practiced? Join forces with a more experienced person who will be at the back of the boat. If the wind increases you will have no difficulty returning to base.
The guided tours on the sea side will surely be maintained because they are sheltered from the prevailing wind (north wind). Advance reservations are always required for guided tours. Call KayakMed to confirm.

- “Children’s kite” thematic session : The courses will be subject to prior validation by our school. The weight and motivation of the children are taken into account when carrying out a children’s session in sustained wind.
- “Customizable” and “Kite course” sessions : Introduction and progression. The ideal wind range for teenagers and adults and from the first session to the upwind.
Improvement : Ideal conditions to improve with one of our following sessions:
- “Kite Foil” thematic session. Set-up, waterstart safety and upwind Kitefoil. Session possible in South and East wind orientation. Boat logistics will allow you to progress easily, quickly and to ensure enhanced safety during your foil sailing in strong winds.
- “Surf Kite” thematic session. Introduction and progression in surfing with and without straps for riders going upwind. Session possible with all wind directions.

Initiation, progression : Suitable conditions for embarking on one of our following sessions :
- “Children’s kite” thematic session: Children’s lessons are cancelled. Lightweight adults (less than 50kg) must be motivated and athletic.
- “Customizable” and “Kite course” sessions: Introduction and progression. The ideal wind range for motivated and sporty teenagers and adults, from the first session to getting back upwind.
Improvement : Ideal conditions to improve with one of our following sessions :
- “Kite Foil” thematic session. Set-up, waterstart safety and upwind Kitefoil. Session possible in South and East wind orientation. Boat logistics will allow you to progress easily and ensure enhanced safety during your foil sailing in strong winds.
- “Surf Kite” thematic session. Introduction and progression in surfing with and without straps for riders going upwind. Session possible with all types of wind.
