The session
More than a discovery, courses allow you to acquire reusable skills. Your progress will take more or less time and depends on your objectives. It also depends on your physical and technical skills and the weather conditions you will experience during your training.
- For those wanting to engage in a process of progression with our school.
- For those wanting a course credit to be used over a 12-month period. This service is also suitable for people wanting to obtain the lowest prices on our teaching services.
- For those wanting access to preferential rates on our used equipment at the end of training.
- For those wanting to give a nice gift to their friends or loved ones.
The objectives of our courses give you an idea of average progression in the South of France if you have never practiced in the past. This progression can be more or less rapid depending on your technical and physical skills and the weather conditions that you encounter during your progress. We adapt to your level and we will help you progress faster if you have the possibilities.
Learn about our options below and their objectives.
Our options
Focus on kite control, getting in and out of the water as well as basic safety.
- Technique : You will learn how to install and fly a kite safely.
- After this course you will be able to install your equipment, take off and land safely. You will be able to move on foot with your kite in the air, generating a start of power.
- The fastest will start using the board lying in the water to move easily across the wind.
- A few rare exceptions will manage to start getting out of the water with the board.
- Autonomy/Security :
- You will know how to use your security system.
- You will be able to help other practitioners land and take off.
At the end of the course you are comfortable flying a kite and helping on a practice site.
Focus on taking power and your safe evolution on the drifting body of water.
- Technique : You will learn to adapt the power of your kite to your needs and the weather conditions in order to make the most of the wind window.
- You start to get out of the water with the board.
- The fastest will be able to slide several hundred meters.
- A few rare exceptions will manage to get closer to the wind on one side.
- Autonomy/Safety : You operate in the shallow water zone defined by your instructor.
- You start to analyze your environment:
During the repetition of your attempts to exit the water you become aware of the fall zone of your kite and act accordingly in order to avoid accidents. - To return to your starting point you rationalize your energy by taking into account the wind direction and the water height. You use the kite setting to reduce its traction depending on the change in the wind and opt for lateral towed swimming depending on your positioning on the water.
- You start to analyze your environment:
At the end of the course you progress with the board on the practice site.
Focus on managing your speed and moving safely on the water.
- Technique : You will learn to brake and restart your kite in order to tend towards the desired gliding axis.
- You slide several dozen or even hundreds of meters while being more comfortable on one side.
- The fastest ones will start to approach upwind from both sides.
- A few rare exceptions may go upwind on both sides.
- Autonomy/safety : You analyze your environment by taking into account other users and their movements. You choose an open area until you can control your speed.
At the end of the course you get out of the water and gain speed on your board.
Focus on changes of sides (transitions) and priority rules.
- Technique : Once you have found your gliding axis, you can change your position on the board in order to have a greater or lesser impact on your edge.
- You move closer to the wind or go upwind.
- The fastest will be able to master transitions or easily navigate all gaits.
- A few rare exceptions will start the jumps.
- Autonomy/safety : You now control your speed by moving on the desired gliding axis. Safety distances and priorities must be respected. You consider the pace of other users to adapt your navigation and avoid collisions and tangles. If you are not yet completely comfortable sailing near other riders, you will choose a less frequented area.
At the end of the course you go upwind and respect the rules of navigation safety.

The “kite courses” are focused around a progression adapted to your needs. Our goal is to allow you to get upwind, navigate safely and develop skills for analyzing your environment, very often necessary for outdoor sports.
We recommend courses for :
- Regular sessions over a long period. Ideal for people who live in the area or near the pond with a “standard” schedule. We will include you on our schedule on weekends and Wednesday afternoons for example.
- Regular sessions over a specific period. You live near the school and your schedule may change every week. Give us your availability as soon as you have your new schedule, we will put you on our schedule.
- Relatively short fixed duration sessions for those returning to the area occasionally. People staying in the region for a few days or a week to two weeks will have to choose between training or individual session.
- During your week of vacation you can return home without having validated your internship credit. You will have 12 months to use it. You can also extend your session balance for an additional 12 months at €50 or transfer half of this balance to another person as a gift voucher.
- If you do not want to commit to a course because you do not plan to return to the region, opt for single sessions. They will be more suitable for you. We cannot guarantee that all of the services will be provided for the duration of your stay. Our courses are non-refundable.
An course commits you to the number of sessions you have chosen. Three, six, nine or twelve. They give you a course credit allocated to our school, which can be used for 12 months. If you do not have time to finish your sessions, you can extend your credit for an additional 12 months at a cost of €50.
Our goal is to make your progress as easy as possible. Some people may sometimes need a little help. Our boat logistics included in the private and semi-private lessons will allow you, if the weather conditions permit, to save you time and energy by avoiding returning on foot to your starting point. Smaller numbers also give you more advice and demonstrations from your instructor and can therefore accelerate your progress.
We can direct you to “individual” sessions. This will depend on your schedule, your length of stay in the region and the time of year you want to do your course. At certain times of the year conditions are more unpredictable. If you do not live near the school or do not plan to return to the pond, we recommend individual sessions.
If you do not wish to complete your course :
- You can transfer your session credit to a loved one via a gift voucher. The gift voucher will be worth 50% of your balance. In other words, you lose half of your sessions by switching them to another person. But you will be happy, it is better than losing them !
- The other solution is to use it on the equipment we sell. Contact us for more details!
To our knowledge, we are the only school to offer so much flexibility and advantages linked to our internship services.
- You advance the price of the course in its entirety. You must pay in full for your course before or just after your first lesson. An internship engages you with our school. You will have course credit and 12 months to complete them. We recommend this option if you are sure to go with us for at least three sessions.
- Another disadvantage that may surprise some is that the price of the course is not fixed. If the current workforce is not complete with three people, we will ask you to pay a surplus corresponding to the price of the service that will be provided. You will be aware of the excess to be paid the day before for the next day depending on the weather conditions and the number of people in the group. You can now access the surcharge prices to get an idea of the potential surplus that may be asked of you. Our course policy is as follows because your progress is greatly accelerated in a reduced workforce. You achieve goals two to three times faster.
If the class size is too small and the price too high for you :
- You are free to wait for another full slot if you do not wish to pay extra. Let us know and we will organize ourselves as best we can to respect your choice.
- You can join the course but you will stop the service early. The practice time and our valuable advice correspond to an amount to be paid. If other people have paid the excess, remember to bring something to wait because we will not be able to take you back to school before the end of the service.
Your kite training sessions are allocated to kite services. This flexibility is normally reserved for “individual” courses, which are a little more expensive, and which pay for the service at the end of the session. This allows us to guarantee that they go to the water with the activity most suitable for the weather conditions. If our schedule allows it, we can accept but you will not have priority over the other activities we offer. For the kayaking activity which is managed by our partner KayakMed, it is not possible to switch to this service because this activity does not belong to us.
